Compact Graphite Iron (CGI) cylinder heads are manufactured with a distinct molecular structure from traditional gray iron cylinder heads. CGI exhibits significant advantages in high-heat and high-stress applications due to its 75% increased strength and enhanced thermal conductivity compared to standard gray iron heads. These are not the same heads you see advertised everywhere else, They are much better.

They are fire ringed and it sits just outside of normal head gasket crush ring helping prevent gasket failure.

Standard valve springs typically open at 58 psi. However, this head does not open until 110 psi. Inconel valves are significantly stronger and can withstand temperatures of up to 2600 degrees. Fire rings are positioned just outside the standard head gasket crush ring to prevent gasket failure.

The Caterpillar Stage 3 Cylinder Head is a high-performance Compact Graphite Iron aftermarket engine component specifically designed for Caterpillar engines. This cylinder head is engineered to deliver superior performance, durability, and reliability compared to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cylinder head. This is the same head we run on our race engines.
